From Covers to Chart-Toppers

Teddy Swims’ journey began with a voice that could stop time. His early days saw him uploading covers of classic songs, reinterpreting them with a raw, heartfelt intensity that struck a chord with millions. But covers were never the end goal. Swims had a vision: to create music that was entirely his own.

The Power of Authenticity

In an industry that often demands perfection, Swims embraces imperfection as his greatest strength. “I see myself as a student to life,” he shares. “No one is perfect, but I don’t want that. I just want to further develop the love I have for myself. That’s always been a struggle for me – insecurities and the way I talk to myself. I’m trying to learn every day to wake up, look in the mirror, and say, ‘I love you. You’re beautiful. You’re doing a great job.’”

It’s this vulnerability that makes his music resonate so deeply. Whether he’s exploring themes of love, loss, or personal growth, his songs carry an honesty that feels like a conversation with an old friend. Swims isn’t just performing – he’s sharing pieces of himself, hoping that in doing so, he can help others heal too.

The Journey Behind I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1) / (Part 2)

The album’s title alone suggests a level of introspection few artists dare to explore. Written over four years and distilled from hundreds of songs, Swims describes the record as a window into his struggles and triumphs. “I truly believe this is some of the best work I’ve done out of maybe 400-500 songs! I think it’s a cohesive look into my personal battles with love and loss and why people do the things they do.”

Life on the Road

Swims’ rise to stardom has been nothing short of meteoric, with relentless touring across Europe, Australia, and the U.S. But while life on the road is thrilling, it comes at a cost. “It’s tough on the mind, body, and spirit,” he admits. “We miss weddings, birthdays, funerals, and hell, we even miss family members giving birth! But it’s worth it for how proud they are and how many amazing connections we get to make with beautiful humans all over the world.”

Despite the challenges, his gratitude remains unwavering. “I try to take every moment possible to be present and grateful for all the good things happening. But I’m working my a** off! Tired and wired! Couldn’t be more grateful!”

Lessons for the Dreamers

For those looking up to Swims as a role model, his advice is simple but profound: trust yourself. “I’d tell younger me to trust your gut!! You’re right! Don’t compare yourself to others. Fail over and over! Nobody is counting your failures, just your wins! And also, don’t drink so much,” he laughs.

And when it comes to making music? “You can’t always write the good ones. The bad songs or the okay songs will be the ones that inform your best work! Having too many expectations of what something should be could totally get in the way of what you can create! If it feels right, it’s right.”

Looking Ahead

With an ever-growing fan base, major industry support, and an unstoppable work ethic, Teddy Swims is well on his way to becoming one of the defining voices of this generation. But for him, the goal isn’t just success – it’s leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and human connection. “I just want to see people be decent to each other,” he says. “Love isn’t as hard as it’s made out to be.”

And with every song, every lyric, every note he belts out with that unmistakable voice, Teddy Swims proves that music is still one of the most powerful forces for connection in the world today.
